Yashasvi Jaiswal Early Career:

Yashasvi's love for cricket began at a young age. However, the opportunities in his hometown were limited, so he moved to Mumbai at the tender age of 11 to pursue his dream of becoming a professional cricketer. His early days in Mumbai were challenging. He lived in tents at the Azad Maidan, a prominent cricket ground in Mumbai, and faced numerous hardships, including financial struggles. To support himself, Yashasvi sold pani puri (a popular Indian street food) and worked as a laborer while continuing to train and play cricket.

Despite these difficulties, Yashasvi's talent and determination did not go unnoticed. He joined the Muslim United Club in Mumbai, where coach Jwala Singh recognized his potential and took him under his wing. Under Singh's mentorship, Yashasvi's skills improved significantly, and he started making a mark in age-group cricket.

Yashasvi's breakthrough came in 2015 when he scored a record 319 not out and took 13 wickets in a Giles Shield match, an inter-school cricket tournament in Mumbai. This exceptional performance earned him a place in the Mumbai Under-16 team. His consistent performances at the domestic level soon caught the attention of national selectors.

In 2018, Yashasvi was selected for the India Under-19 team, where he continued to shine. His performances in the Under-19 Asia Cup were commendable, but it was during the 2020 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup that Yashasvi truly announced himself on the global stage. He emerged as the tournament's leading run-scorer, amassing 400 runs in six matches at an average of 133.33, including a century in the semi-final against Pakistan. His outstanding performances helped India reach the final, where they finished as runners-up.

Following his success at the Under-19 World Cup, Yashasvi's career trajectory continued to rise. He made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy season, scoring a century in just his third match. His performances in domestic cricket further solidified his reputation as one of India's most promising young talents.

In the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, Yashasvi was bought by the Rajasthan Royals for INR 2.4 crore (approximately USD 340,000), making him one of the youngest and most expensive uncapped players in the tournament. Although his initial IPL season was modest, it provided him with valuable experience and exposure to the highest level of competitive cricket.
